AWIPS-2 Collaboration Training Development Wiki Page

Members - Hydro Focal Points from four (4) of the Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) offices receiving AWIPS-2 between now and October 15, 2011.

Objective - Create and use a Wiki as a collaborative content development tool for developing Job Aids for AWIPS-2 Hydrology Applications

Target Audience - People like you...experienced Hydrology Focal Points. This is Delta training, not training for new Hydro Focal Points.

Tasks:
All four team members need to view this Wiki...http://grouptwocollaborativewiki.wikispaces.com/.
View the Home, Getting Started, Using the Edit Window, Adding Images, and Adding Videos pages.
  1. One team member needs to create the wiki page
    1. ensure it is private
    2. ensure all members are organizers so they all have all permissionsorganize the main page content so that users can find things accordingly
    3. please add Dave Cokely as an organizer so I can track progress for the Training Division.
  2. Each team member needs to add a page with example Job Aids for using Hydro Apps in AWIPS-2 for the list provided. Use the tools from the Wiki above to add images and create positive learning pages for the following topics
    1. HydroView application evolving into the Hydro tab in the CAVE display and any Deltas that need explanation, including changes to how Point Data Control functions in AWIPS-2
    2. Hydro Time Series application
    3. MPE_Editor evolving into the MPE tab in CAVE, incliding changes to DailyQC in AWIPS-2
    4. Localization tab in AWIPS-2 and how it impacts configuration files, including the Apps_defaults token files for the BASE, SITE, and USER configurations
  3. When the content is organized and ready, each member needs to use Jingproject to capture a short (about 2 minutes or less) audio/video summary of the main content presented on their page(s).
  4. Another team member needs to add links to the videos to a web page that is visible only to NWS staff logging in with an active LDAP account.
  5. The project is due November 15, 2011, in time to incorporate it with the final training delivery for the full deployment of AWIPS-2. The training delivery deadline is December 15, so this work must be completed by November 15 for Training Division review and incorporation, allowing for any last-minute updates and/or corrections.
  6. Contact Dave Cokely at dave.cokely@noaa.gov with any questions...or use the Discussion tab on your pages to post questions and comments.
